Mosharraf gets anticipatory bail
The High Court today granted anticipatory bail to BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain for six weeks in a money laundering case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed also issued a rule upon the ACC and government to explain why Mosharraf should not be granted regular bail in this case.
The bench passed the order and issued the rule following a petition filed by Mosharraf seeking bail in this case.
The BNP leader also appeared before the HC Bench for bail.
The ACC Thursday sued former health minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain for laundering over Tk 9.53 crore to the United Kingdom.
ACC Director Nasim Anwar filed the case with Ramna Police Station stating that cashing influence of his post, the BNP leader amassed the amount between 2001 and 2006 and deposited that with a bank account in the UK.
