Vincent Meyer is a French singer, guitarist and composer who is currently living in Bangladesh. Vincent had always wanted to try writing songs which could combine the support of a bass guitar, a table and a feminine vocal back-up. In the course of playing in this country and developing his interest in Bengali music Vincent found to his pleasure that he was able to achieve all three of his aims!
The result is the Vincent Meyer World Music Quartet which features: Vincent Meyer guitar and vocals, Humayra Jahan back-up vocals, Arif Sadab Khan bass guitar, Sanjib Mazumder tabla. The play list will consist mainly of haunting French songs written by Vincent but will also have at least three French-Bangla songs written together with his friend Parag.
In addition we can expect a show stopping version of a famous Lalon song which everyone will recognise. In other words the audience present on that day may be privileged to witness a new genre of music: French Chanson and Bengali Folk in marvellous fusion!
Entry tickets (Tk600) are available at Red Shift/Radius or online (Tk660) at www.imdhaka.com or www.jetechao.com (Limited seating so please book early).
