Jovago to promote Bangladeshi tourism industry
Jovago Bangladesh, a Rocket Internet backed online booking site, has reiterated their ambition to promote the tourism industry of Bangladesh during an Iftar event held on the 23 June at the Six Seasons Hotel. The Iftar event brought together the growing family of hotel managers/owners, friends, and well- wishers of Jovago.
The number one hotel booking engine in Africa, Jovago, is now in Bangladesh and has already signed up with over 850 hotels across 45 destinations and is looking to cross 1000 hotels soon. These will include accommodation facilities of all sorts, from high-end hotels to home stays and community tourism initiatives.
Booking directly with hotels is a familiar process for some travelers but the additional support that an online portal like Jovago provides will be a different experience. As Bangladesh enters a new phase with the government heavily promoting the year of tourism, hotel booking is the first step towards easing the overall process of inbound travel. The government is headed towards digitising most services and strengthening the digital footprint through tourism, enabling a more user-friendly environment. As inbound tourism in Bangladesh gathers momentum and more locals start using Jovago to book hotels, the online traffic generated and an easier process of booking could easily be the turning point required to attract more foreign tourists visiting the country.
The iftar event paid homage to the new connections and relations established by Jovago, as team members continue traveling to every corner of the country, building this unique network.
