The Ecotourism project of the government is posing a threat to the traditional lifestyle of Mandis living in Madhupur. Mandis feel the threat of the state will commodify their traditions and turn them into tourist attractions through eco-park/national park projects. As Wanna is a great occasion to narrate stories and retell histories from a Mandi point of view, it has become an important force for constituting claims for land and cultural rights and for developing alliances with other communities. Wanna calls for reconnection to tradition and inspiration to reclaim and build upon what is lost.
