Candlelight Carols
What says Christmas better than candles? Aromatic candles, of course! With their soft glows and relaxing whiffs of different fragrances, scented candles make great Christmas presents. Even normal candles styled to Christmas' themes are another great choice. With so many different styles, sizes and colours to choose from, the gift is a sweet, traditional and thoughtful one.

Quelle est cette odeur agréable?
If you wonder where the good fragrance is coming from, wonder no more; Sacred Mark Soaps is the answer. Since the Christmas spirit encourages generosity, Sacred Mark soaps helps doubly in this regard. 100 per cent hand-made by those who have almost lived their entire lives in the red light districts of the city, these soaps help empower the women giving them their basic rights to lead an independent life. Indeed, this is a gift that keeps on giving, to more than just one person.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
What does Rudolph remind us of other than the lovable red-nosed reindeer? Well, it helps reinforce that Christmas is an occasion tailour made for children. In that vein of thought, instead of getting your friend something, why not get something for the kids? Toys make wonderful gifts, especially those which are educational. So go ahead and get a couple of board games and legos and brighten up a child's second happiest day.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Christmas means snow and since we don't have snow in Bangladesh and snow sprays are the most eye-burning replacements, why not opt for white ceramic figures? Made popular by the store on the ground floor of Aziz Supermarket, white ceramic figurines and busts have slowly caught on and they do make wonderful presents. With religious, cultural and animal motifs, these figurines present a wide range of designs to choose from.

I wonder as I wander
With so much emotion in the air, it's only normal for us to wander around really taking in the Christmas spirit. But what about those who wander around in their own homes, because it's dark and dangerous outside? For those, why not splurge on a brand new carpet. Markets around town offer great deals on carpets and although you want get original antiques from Persia, you will get some pretty good ones on offer.

Rockin' around the Christmas tree
Christmas is synonymous with Christmas trees and Christmas trees are synonymous with Christmas decorations. Therefore, why not get a bunch of tree decorations for your loved one? These trinkets are inexpensive and help beautify and add to the entire occasion, thus they are a brilliant choice indeed.

Deck the Hall
We mean this literally. Head over to Ethnica and pick out traditional hand-crafted table cloths, pillow covers and even Bangladesh inspired coasters. Ethnica delivers its promise with its very ethnic collection and these make a great addition to your Christmas bash held right here in the country. Combining culture and religion is a great way of going about a present and Ethnica helps exactly in this regard.

Auld Lang Syne

An antique can easily be one of the best presents ever. Without having to go over budget, or even pay extravagantly, you can easily snap up an antique from the ground floor of Gulshan DCC Market. With numerous options to choose from and from a wide range of prices, an antique as a present says a lot about you. Choose from a vast option of old school binoculars, time keepers, statuettes, decoration pieces and much more. After all, Christmas always harks us back to the good old days and why not have a piece from the past to commemorate the day?

Step into Christmas
Christmas means many things to many people, but one thing for certain is that there is going to be a feast. With so many dishes to prepare and serve, a great Christmas present can be ceramics. These ceramics using Christmas themed motifs or the other more elegant ones can both brighten up your Christmas Eve preparations. Look around and see what you can snap up.

Winter Wonderland
So at the conclusion of the festivities and while waiting for Santa Claus, what do we do? We sleep. And to make the best part of the day even better why not get some embroidered bed sheets and blankets? Everybody and their mothers love blankets, so go out in town and pick the most fitting one for a friend or family member.

Come buy my nice fresh ivy
Presenting a Christmas tree to someone brings about numerous logistical problems. To avoid these obstacles, why not opt for a Bonsai tree? Bonsai trees are the latest in things in the city and everyone should have one. Bonsai trees are readily available, convenient and can be inexpensive in developmental stages. They also make a pretty memorable gift that remains with its owners for years.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
How about jewellery made from pearls and/or sea shells? With the latter exuding a sense of Cox's Bazaar and the former sheer elegance, such jewellery do make wonderful tokens of appreciation. And with women, you know you cannot go wrong with jewellery, so why ever not?
