Use of rainwater
Most countries of the world are facing severe water crisis nowadays. The use of rainwater in irrigation can be an effective way to combat this crisis. Although much has been talked about this method of irrigation, little has been actually done in reality. Most farmers still use underground water for irrigation which is expensive and gradually empties the underground reservoirs. The vagaries of monsoon every year and receding groundwater levels only emphasise the need for such use of rainwater. Innovative methods should be adopted to use rainwater in irrigation and farming.
