Telecom regulators' new plan is ludicrous
First we were faced with costlier 3G internet with poor quality internet service in the name of digitalisation of the country. Now comes this – telecom regulators' decision to put a gag on voice calls through messenger to raise its revenue. It is almost the same as putting restrictions on email because post offices are losing their relevance and are going out of use. It's like moving one step forwards and two steps backwards.
Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's vision of making the country digital and taking it forward will never be actualised if such analog era bureaucracy still prevails in our economy.
