Ensuring quality education for all
The 1972 Constitution of Bangladesh proclaimed that the state must be “establishing a uniform, mass-oriented and universal system of education and extending free and compulsory education to all children to such stage as may be determined by law.”
Unfortunately, the state is yet to implement its earliest pledges, especially those relating to education. While, 98 percent of all children are enrolled in the primary schools every year. However, a huge chunk of them later drop out. In the New Year, we should strive for ensuring better quality of education for all with a renewed vigour.
