BNP Vice-president Sadeque Hossain Khoka and its central leader Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed were released from jail on bail today.
Khoka walked out of Dhaka Central Jail around 4:45pm, deputy jailer Tarikul Islam told The Daily Star.
On the other hand, Hafiz was released from Narayanganj District Jail around 5:00pm.
The BNP leaders earlier secured bail in all the cases filed against them.
A total of eight cases were filed against Khoka for killing sub-inspector Shahjahan during the May 5 mayhem in Motijheel centering the Hefajat-e Islam rally, attempted murder of police by throwing cocktails, vandalising vehicles and preventing law enforcers from discharging duties in the capital's Shantinagar and Malibagh areas.
Hafiz was shown arrested in three cases.
