Jamaat gives ‘moral support’ for tomorrow’s hartal
Jamaat-e-Islami has extended its “moral support” for tomorrow’s countrywide daylong hartal called by a platform of several Islam organisations.
In a release, Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Mujibur Rahman said the country’s religious-minded people have their full support to the hartal demanding exemplary punishment to Abdul Latif Siddique for his derogatory comments on hajj, Tablighi Jamaat and Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
“I hope the ongoing movement against Latif Siddique will be strengthened further through enforcing the hartal,” Mujibur said.
Meanwhile, Boarder Guard Bangladesh this evening started patrolling different parts of the capital to avoid any unwanted incidents during and ahead of the hartal, said Mohsin Reza, public relation officer of BGB headquarters.
Sammilito Islami Dalsamuho, an alliance of Islamic parties, has called the hartal demanding arrest of recently sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddique for his derogatory comments on hajj, Tablighi Jamaat and Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
On October 1, the alliance including Khilafat Majlis, Khilaft-e-Islam, Islami Oikya Jote, Nejam-e-Islam, Muslim League and Hefajat-e Islam gave the government a 15-day ultimatum to arrest Siddique but later it extended the date till October 22.
