It’s raining then
A sudden downpour is quite refreshing. However, when it comes on the heels of a very tensed environment, it’s more of a relief than ever before. As the sky opens itself up with a roar and releases celestial droplets, momentarily we forget all our worries. Rain is more than just a weather-type; it’s rather a cleansing ritual, one we should observe every now and then.
Much has been said, written and re-written about the rain. Many have paid tributes, written ballads and composed odes just on this phenomenon. For Bangladeshis, the rain this time around, comes after days of heat. However, with a flood threatening, despite the heat, no one would have within anyone else’s earshot asked for rain. It would be treason. However, once it happens, all natural, then who can possibly complain? Hopefully the dams will hold, the situation will become better and we can go on enjoying the rain without a worry, as it was meant to be enjoyed.
Whether it be a book, a game of football or just a nice quite evening, everyone has a different agenda when it comes to the rain. Some, hard to believe as it is, even despise the rain. That the sky can inspire so many different emotions is again testament to the power that the rain has over us. Its beauty is undoubted and whether its winter, monsoon or summer, the rain is always welcome.
