ICC against reduction of Ashraful’s ban
ICC has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland against the verdict given by the chairman of the disciplinary panel of the BCB regarding the BPL fixing cases of Mohammad Ashraful and a number of other cricketers.
This appeal would be the last phase with regards to this case.
The verdict given by the chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s disciplinary panel last month had reduced Ashraful’s ban from eight years to five years.
According to BCB’s CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the International Cricket Council appealed against the reduction of Ashraful’s ban.
“The ICC has confirmed that it made an appeal against the verdict given by the chairman of the BCB’s disciplinary panel regarding Mohammad Ashraful and five others. The BCB has authorised the ICC to take all the decisions on issue,” said Nizamuddin.
