Hong Kong captain Jamie Atkinson has described the win over Bangladesh as an 'Associate team's dream come true'. Atkinson, who had earlier told that a win against Bangladesh would be the biggest scalp in Hong Kong cricket's history, said that he was over the moon and 'very proud' of the players.
"To beat Bangladesh in their home ground in front of a very big crowd is just a fantastic stuff. I am sure there will be a lot of celebrations tonight back in Hong Kong, just the significance of the victory against a Test nation, is just fantastic, and a dream come true," said Atkinson.
Atkinson believed that sticking to mere basics had helped them ace this win.
"They were very attacking and our bowlers responded well, it could have been easy to fade under the pressure of the batsmen. They played a few aggressive shots and that's what brought their downfall," said Atkinson.
"I told them that throughout the game there would be a lot of noise when Bangladesh score boundaries. I asked them to concentrate on our own game and just enjoy the atmosphere," he added..
