Human haulier driver stabbed dead in Mirpur
The driver of a human haulier was stabbed to death by unknown miscreants in the city's Mirpur area early today.
Police identified the driver as Mohmmad Hasan, 25, a resident of Mirpur-12.
The victim used to drive his human hauler, locally known as Leguna, for police when they requisitioned his vehicle, said Syed Zia-uz-Zaman, office-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station.
The OC said Hasan came under the attack in Mirpur-12 area around 5:00am today.
The miscreants managed to flee the scene, leaving him critically injured, the OC said.
On information, Alamgir Hossain, a relative of the victim, rescued Hasan and took him at a private hospital in the area.
Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the attending doctor declared him dead.
The body bore several stab marks in his throat, chest and back, the OC said.
"It was a planned murder but motive behind the killing could not be known immediately," the police official added.
