Bangladesh Coast Guard detained a man and recovered 150,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from his possession at Chittagong port early today.
The detainee is Mohammad Aziz, 35, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the coastguard raided a fishing boat at the outer anchorage of the port near Swandip channel around 12:30am and recovered the tablets, said Captain Shahidul Islam, zonal commander of the coast guard (east zone).
The approximate value of the recovered dope is nearly Tk 8 crore, the official added.
It was possibly smuggled into the country via Cox’s Bazar, he said.
