Hajj flights start from August 27

Hajj flights carrying Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin on August 27 which will continue till September 28.

The return flights will begin on October 8, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.

MD Babul Hasan, secretary to the ministry of religious affairs, unveiled the final scheduled at a briefing at his secretariat office today.   

A total of 98,762 pilgrims from Bangladesh are expected to perform Hajj this year, he said.

Of them, 1600 will travel under government management and the rest under private arrangements, he added.

The secretary also expressed his hope that Bangladesh pilgrims will perform their hajj smoothly this year.
