Govt failed to up manpower export: Fakhrul
BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today criticised the government for its failure in increasing manpower export to foreign countries.
Manpower export deal with Malaysia was a pre-settled issue, Fakhrul said while talking to reporters after placing wreath at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka.
“Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did nothing new for further manpower export,” he said.
Fakhrul’s comments came two days after Bangladesh and Malaysia signed a deal opening up doors to 12,000 Bangladeshi jobseekers. The deal was signed during the visit of the prime minister in Malaysia.
Manpower exportation in Malaysia and Middle East countries did not increase as per expectation due to the government failure, he said this responding to a query of reporters.
Earlier after the PM’s visit to UAE, BNP made a similar claim that the government had failed to boost manpower export in the Arab states.
Fakhrul along with a leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Projanma, a pro-BNP body, placed wreath at Zia’s grave to mark the front’s 18th founding anniversary.
The premier is scheduled to brief the media this afternoon on the outcome of her recent Malaysia visit and the Saarc Summit held in Nepal last month.
