Four held for cheating in JU admission test
The Jahangirnagar University authorities yesterday caught four students while they were cheating in the admission test of B unit under social sciences faculty.
Among them, Kaiser Ahmed was caught while using his cell phone, which is not permitted, at Old Arts building.
Kaiser said he was waiting to get the answers through SMS from one Rashed who made a deal with him on condition of taking Tk 2 lakh if Kaiser qualifies for admission.
A friend of Kaiser, Shuvo, introduced him to Rashed. Kaiser also claimed that Rashed advised him to meet Bangladesh Chhatra League JU unit President Mahmudur Rahman Jony if anything goes wrong. However, Jony denied his involvement in the incident.
Meanwhile, Md Reza-e-Rabbi and Marzia Mim were detained as they exchanged their answer sheets with each other.
Exams of Nur Mohammad was also cancelled as invigilators suspected that he attended the exam as proxy since the photo on his admit card looked a bit different and he also could not write his father's name properly.
Except for Kaiser, the other three were freed. JU Proctor Tapan Kumer Saha said actions will be taken against him after proper investigation.
