Fakhrul, 3 others get permanent bail in cop killing case
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and three other party leaders today secured permanent bail in a case filed for killing a police constable in the capital during the last year’s anti-government agitation programme.
Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur confirmed regularisation of their ad-interim bails after Fakhrul and the three other leaders turned into the court with the bail orders that they were granted from the High Court in the case recently.
The three BNP leaders are: Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman and city unit Member Secretary Abdus Salam.
Earlier on May 12, another Dhaka court extended the bail of the four leaders till June 17 (today) in the murder case filed with Ramna Police Station.
The case was filed for killing a traffic constable, Ferdous Khalil, after torching a police bus in the capital's Bangla Motor on last December 24 during an anti-government demonstration of the BNP-led of 18-party alliance (now 19-party combine).
