Exhibition on 1971 Genocide opens at BNM
Special exhibition, “1971: Genocide and Torture”, marking the month of victory opened on December 9 afternoon at the Nalinikanta Bhattashali Gallery of Bangladesh National Museum (BNM).
The event is being organised jointly by BNM, and Genocide and Torture Archive and Museum Trust.
The exhibition features 70 books by noted historian Professor Muntasir Mamun, 38 souvenirs of the Liberation War along with rare photos of the War and replicas of artworks by eminent artists of the country.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the exhibition on Tuesday afternoon, in the presence of Professor Muntasir Mamun, BNM director general Faizul Latif Chowdhury and Dr. Sheikh Baharul Alam. M. Azizur Rahman, chairman of Board of Trustees, BNM presided over the inauguration ceremony, held at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium of BNM,
The eight-day exhibition is running from Saturday to Wednesday from 9:30am-7pm and, on Friday 3pm-8pm.
