Ex-Chhatra Union leader, student go missing in Ctg
A former student leader of Bangladesh Chhatra Union and a school student of Chittagong city went missing together from Zila Shilpakala Academy area Sunday.
They are Ismail Azad Shakil, 27, former general secretary of Chittagong district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Union; and Linkon Majumder Joy, 16, a class X student of Independent School and College in the city.
Police and family sources said, Joy went out of home with his friend Sudeepto around 4:30pm Sunday and went to Cheragi intersection where they met Shakil, who went of his house around 9:00am.
The three then went to the Shilpakala area.
Around 6:30pm, Sudeepto left for home while Shakil and Joy told Sudeepto that they would go to Afmi Paza from there, they said.
Since then, the duo has been missing as their family members could not reach them over their mobile phones, they added.
The three were involved with an organi sation “Bibarton”, a study circle, said the families.
Two separate general diaries were filed with Kotwali Police Station on Monday.
Sub-inspector Kamruzzaman said they were yet to ascertain the motive behind the going missing.
