EU deplores violence, calls for dialogue
Deploring violence affecting innocent citizens of Bangladesh, the European Union has reiterated its rejection of any form of violence and called for dialogue to resolve problems.
This was stated by EU Ambassador and Head of Delegation Pierre Mayaudon, who paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning at the Prime Minister's Office.
The EU envoy also underlined that peace and stability would be critical for economic development. On this note, he deplored violence affecting innocent citizens of Bangladesh.
According to a press release of EU, the ambassador engaged with the prime minister on a number of issues related to the EU-Bangladesh relations, including on trade and development where the EU is the number one partner of Bangladesh. He advocated bringing the relation to a new high.
Blue Economy and Digital Bangladesh are, he said, among the areas where the EU can share its experience and expertise. “This would bring the partnership into a new era of modernity,” Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon said.
