Sakam Cultural Organisation arranged a 10-day theatre workshop at Aminul Haq Gedu auditorium in Natore for local theatre artistes. Muzibul Haq Nabi, president of Sakam Cultural Organisation inaugurated the first workshop on June 3. Fifteen young artistes from Sakam and Ingit Theatre took part in the workshop.
Thai director Kullanit Nam Juisuk Noon and Bangladeshi director SM Shafinur Alam Siddiki Tutul jointly conducted the workshop. Deputy Commissioner of Natore, Zafar Ullah distributed certificates among the participants on the last day of workshop. Later, the participating artistes staged play “Manab Sobbhota” at Aminul Haq Gedu auditorium.
Meanwhile, a two-day regional literary conference ended in the town recently. Bangla Academy organised the programme at Natore Rajbari Anondabhaban premises. Eminent writer and poet Syed Shamsul Haq inaugurated the event. Shamsuzzaman Khan, director general of Bangla Academy, presided over the programme while former vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University was present as chief guest.
Eminent writer Hasan Azizul Haq; Zafar Ullah, Deputy Commissioner of Natore; Mohammad Abdul Hai, director of Bangla Academy and Professor Mazibul Haq Nabi, president of Sakam cultural organisation of Natore addressed the programme as special guests.
On the first day, writer Zakir Talkdar presented a keynote address on “Rabindranath and Nazrul in northern region”. Professor Jamal Pasha of Rajshahi University discussed on the keynote address.
Professor Shaheed Iqbal presented the keynote address on the second day. The subject of which was “Literary practice and recent little magazine practice in northern region”. Poet Shimul Mahmud discussed on the keynote address.
After the discussion, a cultural event was also arranged, where local artistes performed.
