Photos titled “Beauty Parlour” and “All in the Family”, taken by Noima Parveen and Abdul Matin Mohi respectively, have been nominated for a prestigious international photography competition award, titled “74th Asahi Shimbun Photography Contest”.
On April 22, the two photographers would be awarded by gold medals in Tokyo.
This year, a total of 5,315 photos from over 40 countries across the world were received in the competition. A year-long exhibition featuring the selected photos would also be held in the major cities of Japan from April.
The two photographers are the students of the port city's Photo Art Institute, run by noted photographer Shoeb Faruquee.
