A nine-member delegation of Kanthabithi members -- an organisation of elocutionists in Magura -- is all set to go to West Bengal, India to participate in a two-day recitation festival to be held on March 22 and 23 at the Pashkura Rabindra-Nazrul Mancha in East Medinipur.
Poet Shuvo Das Gupta will inaugurate the festival, arranged by Sanchayeeta Abritti Prashikhkhan Kendra of East Medinipur, Kanthabithi's convener Khan Mazharul Haque informed.
On the first day of the festival, artistes of Kanthabithi will stage a 'Sruti-Natak' (recital drama) a performance based on “Roth-er Roshi”, a popular play written by Rabindranath Tagore. Khan Mazharul Haque Lipu, the organising secretary of central Abritti Samonnoy Parishad (ASP), has scripted and directed the production.
Elocutionists of Kanthabithi will also render solo performances on the second day of the festival on March 23.
The nine members of the team are: Mazharul Haque Lipu, Mokhlesur Rahman, Rashedul Islam, Nazli Laboni, Anichhur Rahman, Abdus Selim, Ohidul Islam, Sultana Zahan Urmy and Sreya Ghosh.
