Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre organised an evening of Blues music by one of the most popular bands of Bangladesh, LRB (Love Runs Blind), along with popular singer Dilshad Karim Elita as guest vocalist, at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) Gulshan premises on Friday. They opened with “Ei Raat Tomar Amar” as a tribute to Suchitra Sen, and went on to perform popular numbers “Ami To Preme Porini”, “Madhobi”, “Ami Je Kaar”, paid tributes to pop guru Azam Khan through “Ami Jare Chai Re” and “Papri Keno Bojhena”. Elita, meanwhile sang “Ma Ke Bolish”, “Gotokal Raate”, and “Khoniker Jonno”, among others. LRB closed the event with their cover of a Rabindra Sangeet “Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ashe”. The band's line-up consisted of Ayub Bachchu on lead guitar and vocal, Swapan on bass, Masud on guitar and Romel on drums.
Meanwhile, a sarod recital by eminent Bangladeshi artiste Md. Yousuf Khan was held on Saturday at the IGCC Gulshan premises. He performed Raga Kirwani and Raga Mishra Kafi on vilambit, madhya and drut laya, and closed his performance with a dadra, madhya and drut laya presentation of Raga Bhairavi. He was accompanied by Raju Chowdhury on tabla and Md. Rezaul Khan.
Both events were organised in association with Asian Paints, IRCON and Marico Bangladesh.
