Ganga-Jamuna Theatre and Cultural Festival will begin from September 1. The eight-day festival aims at consolidating the harmony between Bangladesh and India through cultural exchange. The programme will feature theatrical performances by 14 troupes from Bangladesh and India. The festival will simultaneously take place at the National Theatre and the Experimental Theatre Hall. In addition to plays, dance, jatra, musical performances, recitations and street plays will take place every afternoon.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will attend the ceremony as chief guest, while noted theatre personalities Ramendu Majumdar, Mamunur Rashid, Nasiruddin Yousuff, Liaquat Ali Lucky and Dolly Basu from Kolkata will be special guests.
