To hark back to the colours of six seasons and create awareness about the natural and environmental elements of Bangladesh, “Channel i-Grameenphone Prokriti Mela 2014” was held on January 18 at Channel i premises.
Environment and Forestry Minister Anwar Hossain Manju, noted nature scientists, litterateurs, environmentalists and Channel i and Grameenphone officials inaugurated the third fair themed on “Be(n)che Thak Sabuj Be(n)che Thak”.
To protect nature and environment in the country, the fair elaborately showcased programmes including nature related music, dance, recitation, painting, performances of bhawaiya, gambhira and Kobi gaan, photography exhibition, interviews and more.
Principal of Notre Dame College, Father Dr. Hemanta Piyas Rosari was honoured for his contribution in protecting the environment while ceramist Bishad Haripaul received a special honour at the fair. Starting in the morning, the daylong fair was aired live on Channel i.
