The finale of “Bangladesh First” -- the popular trivia and quiz show on Bangladesh -- will air on Maasranga TV at 8:40pm tonight. The four finalist teams will compete for the trophy, in front of a 600-strong audience comprising parents, teachers and other participants.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid will be the chief guest at the event, and will hand over the champion's trophy; The Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam will be the special guest for this episode. Top officials from Unilever Bangladesh, Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh and Maasranga TV will be there as well to encourage the participants and handover crests to the winners.
“Bangladesh First”, was launched nationwide by The Daily Star and e-learning portal champs21.com in September 2013. The programme, titled “Rin presents Bangladesh First -- powered by Standard Chartered Bank”, started its journey with the aim to encourage the younger generation to learn more about our motherland. The eight contestants from the four finalist teams have made it this far after leaving behind 8,000 students of classes six to ten, from 80 champs21.com partner Bangla and English medium schools.
The final contestants come from the Joypurhat Girls Cadet College, Joypurhat; Mirzapur Cadet College, Tangail; Cantonment Public School & College, Mymensingh and Paramount School and College, Rajshahi.
The champion team will win the coveted Bangladesh First Trophy an Education grant worth of 5 Lac and runner up team will win education grant worth of 3Lac.
