Education gets Tk 29,213cr

A total of Tk 29,213 crore has been allocated for education sector, Tk 4,120 crore up from last year.

The education ministry got an allocation of Tk 15,540 crore, which is Tk 2,377 crore more than last year.

The primary and mass education ministry has been allocated Tk 13,673, Tk 1,743 crore up from the last year.

Establishing technical institute in each upazila and setting up 1,500 primary schools are among the major commitments made in the proposed budget for the sector.

The other targets include modernising 1,000 madrasa and constructing 1,500 academic buildings aiming to expand science education and research.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith in his budget speech this afternoon hoped that he will succeed in implementing most of the plans set out in the budget.
