An oil-laden train derailed in Dakshin Surma upazila of Sylhet, snapping its rail communication with Dhaka and Chittagong since this morning.

Muhibur Rahman, stationmaster of Sylhet Railway Station, said a wagon of a Sylhet-bound train from Chittagong veered off the tracks near Moglabazar Rail Station around 9:30am.

Train service of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong remains suspended following the derailment, reports our Sylhet correspondent quoting the railway official.

A relief train from Kulaura Rail Station of Moulvibazar has already started for the spot to salvage the derailed wagon, Muhibur told the correspondent around 11:50am.
