A garment worker lost his battle for life today, five days after he was critically injured in an attack by pro-blockade activists in Chittagong.
Rashedul Alam Rasel, 25, son of Sahmsul Haque of Panchbibi in Fatikchhari upazila, succumbed to his injuries at a city hospital around 4:00am, reports our correspondent quoting Javed Iqbal, the victim’s cousin.
Rasel was critically injured as pro-blockade activists attacked the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, carrying him, with bamboo sticks and other blunt weapons at Hathazari during opposition alliance's blockade on January 4.
He was first rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to Ma o Shishu Hopsital in Agrabad of the port city where he died this morning.
He was under life support for the last two days, his cousin told The Daily Star.
