Crude bomb blasts in Dhaka injure 6
At least six people were injured in two separate crude bomb explosions in Dhaka this evening.
More than three crude bombs went off near Chobirhat area on the Dhaka University campus around 7:45pm, injuring at least five people.
Police could not arrest anyone in connection with the blasts that took place on the eve of the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s 72-hour hartal.
The victims received treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH Police Camp.
The injured were identified as Azhar, 20, a second year finance student at the university, Jibon, 25, Rabiul, 30, Awal, 30, and Rintu, 25.
In a separate incident, a crude bomb exploded at Bakshibazar in the old part of the capital around 8:00pm.
The incident injured a youth named Rahat, 12, who also took treatment from the DMCH, the police officer told The Daily Star.
