Two accused arrested in Bogra town
Police arrested two accused in Jubo League leader Ranju Pramanik murder case, raiding Palsha area in Bogra town on Monday.
The arrestees are Touhidur Rahman Likhon, 21, son of Aminur Rahman Shahin, and Farhad Hossian Fuad, 35, son of late Abdus Sattar of Phultola area under Shahjahanpur upazila of the district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Arifur Rahman Mondol raided a students' mess in Palsha area around 2:00am and arrested the two from there.
Ranju Pramanik, 38, joint secretary of Jubo League Shahjahanpur upazila unit, came under attack by a gang of 10 at a shop near America Boarding in Gohail area in the upazila on February 8. They hit him with sharp weapons, leaving him death on the spot.
Ranju's wife Jorina Begum filed murder a case with Shahjahanpur Police Station on Feb 10, accusing eight named, including Likhon and Fuad, and six unnamed people.
Contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Mannan of the police station said the arrestees were also wanted in Jubo League leader Bush Murder case.
Law enforcers are raiding different areas to arrest the rest of the accused in Ranju murder case, the OC added.
