Treatment of Mahmuda, Pallab starts
Treatment of two children, who have been suffering from undiagnosed skin disorders all over their bodies, started after the government and affluent persons came forward with help.
The kids are Pallab Sarder, 3, son of Suresh Sarder of Hakimpur village in Naogaon's Badalgachhi upazila, and Mahmuda, 9, daughter of Abdur Rahim of Kamdebpur village of Biral upazila in Dinajpur.
Pallab was admitted to Noagaon General Hospital on Monday while Mahmuda was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka on Thursday last week, said family members.
Both have been suffering from undiagnosed skin problem since their birth.
This newspaper ran two separate reports on them on July 20 and August 7.
Hospital authorities have a plan to send Pallab to Dhaka if necessary, said Dr Emdadul Haq, a paediatrician of Naogaon General Hospital.
Dr Bakhs Chowdhury, civil surgeon of Dinajpur, visited Mahmuda after a report titled '9-year-old Mahmuda suffers from debilitating skin condition' was published in The Daily Star on July 20.
Biral Upazila Nirbahi Officer ABM Rawshan Kabir came forward for the treatment of Mahmuda. Besides, many solvent people like Sajeeb Hossain are standing beside Mahmuda.
Expert doctors examined the girl, said Dr Utpal Habib of BSMMU.
