"From Geeta to Gurpreet, and now to Sonu! EAM Sushma Swaraj welcomes the young boy Sonu home from Bangladesh," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted along with photographs of Swaraj welcoming Sonu. I thank all those who looked after our young citizen in Bangladesh./3 — Sushma Swaraj (@SushmaSwaraj) June 28, 2016 Sonu's father Mehboob thanked the minister for her initiative to bring his child back saying: "I'm grateful to her. I couldn't have hoped for a better Eid gift. I have found my son and I am very happy now.", reports our New Delhi correspondent. The 12-year-old boy Sonu returned to his home in New Delhi today, six years after being abducted and ending up in a children's home in Jessore. He was kidnapped from outside his residence in New Seemapuri, a locality in northeast Delhi in 2010 and taken to Bangladesh. Sonu flew to Delhi by a Jet Airways flight and was reunited with his parents Mehboob and Madhuri at the airport. Sonu was brought back to India after his DNA matched with that of his mother. Sonu was handed over to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka three days ago by the local authorities after a Barguna court ordered to do so. A man from Jessore recently had contacted Sonu's parents and gave details about his whereabouts following which his family approached the Ministry of External Affairs for help. Thank u @awasthis @JournoPranay @raydeep and friends in the media who brought this matter to my notice on 24th May. pic.twitter.com/QR6EZD4unU
