Teletalk employees on strike for salary hike
A total of 600 employees of the state-owned mobile operator Teletalk went on an indefinite strike this morning demanding 100 percent increase of their basic salaries.
The employees went on the work abstention across the country around 9:00am, said Kamruzzaman, secretary general of Teletalk Employee Welfare Association.
Last reported this afternoon, they were staging a sit-in in front of their head office in Dhaka’s Gulshan area.
All the activities of the mobile operator were shut throughout the country following the strike.
They have been demanding the salary hike from July last year.
