Schoolteacher killed by husband
A schoolteacher was hacked to death allegedly by her husband following a family feud at Betagi Barua para in Rangunia upazilla of Chittagong early yesterday.
Law enforcers arrested the victim's husband from Rangunia yesterday afternoon.
The victim was Rumi Barua, 35, an assistant teacher of Collectorate School and College in Bandarban where she lived with her parents.
Rumi went to her husband's house at Betagi Barua para on August 10, said her brother Monoj Kanti Barua.
Monoj said Rumi's husband Rintu Barua might have killed her following a family feud.
Rintu hacked Rumi, leaving her dead on the spot, following an altercation over a family issue, said police quoting family members.
The accused went into hiding soon after the killing, said police.
