RU teacher Joly committed suicide: Doctor suspects
Rajshahi University teacher Akter Jahan Joly might have committed suicide by taking poison, said a doctor, who performed the autopsy on the body today.
“We found poison in the deceased’s body. We will have to wait for some laboratory tests to be ascertained about the real cause of the death,” Enamul Haque, lecturer of forensic medicine department of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, told our Rajshahi Staff correspondent.
Joly, an associate professor of Mass Communication and Journalism department, was found dead inside her campus quarters yesterday.

Meanwhile, Kamrul Hasan Ratan, a younger brother of Joly, today filed a case with Motihar Police Station against anonymous person in connection with the death.
In the case statement, Ratan said Joly has been instigated by some unknown people directly or indirectly to commit suicide.
Besides, quoting inquest report of the body, Amir Jafarn, deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said the RU teacher “committed suicide”.
He informed that a small bottle with “white liquid substance and sleeping pills” was found at her room on Friday.
After the autopsy, her body was handed over to the family members around 1:30pm.
