PM releases five postal stamps marking Victory Day
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today released five commemorative postage stamps, two first day covers, two data cards and a souvenir marking the 46th Victory Day.
She released the commemorative postage materials, issued by Bangladesh Post Office, at her official Gano Bhaban residence in the capital this morning.
A commemorative stamp of Tk 16 denomination was released marking the Victory Day 2016 while four stamps of Tk 3, 7 and 12 denomination were released marking the 45th (1971-2016) year of the emergence of Bangladesh.
On the occasion, two first day covers of Tk 10 denomination each and two data cards of Tk 5 each were released along with a souvenir.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim, Principal Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, PMO Secretary Surayia Begum, Post and Telecommunication Secretary Md Faizur Rahman Chowdhury, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim and Director General of the postal department Prabas Chandra Saha were present at the occassion.
The postal stamps, first day covers and data cards will be put on sale at philatelic bureau of Dhaka GPO from today while these would be available in other GPO/post offices later, officials said.
