Hasina’s India tour deferred
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s proposed India visit has been deferred due to unavoidable circumstances.
Highly placed diplomatic sources in Dhaka and New Delhi confirmed it to The Daily Star this evening.
She was scheduled to pay a three-day bilateral visit to India from December 17 or 18 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
However, the new schedule was not officially declared.
The diplomatic sources said both sides agreed to defer the visit and new dates will be fixed later.
They indicated that the visit may take place in January or February in 2017.
