NCC, district council polls: EC’s meeting over security on Dec 10
The Election Commission (EC) will hold meeting with senior officials of home ministry, law enforcement and intelligent agencies on December 10 to discuss law and order situation ahead of the elections to district councils and Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC).
The meeting will be held at the National Economic Council (NEC) auditorium in Dhaka at 11:00am, said EC Secretary Muhammad Abdullah.
“We will discuss overall law and order situation in the meeting and take decision regarding security measure,” he told The Daily Star this evening.
Earlier on November 27 at a press conference, the secretary said decision over deployment of army in the NCC polls will be taken in the meeting.
Elections to NCC will be held on December 22, while 61 district councils will go to polls on December 28.
