‘Mastermind’ of Nasirnagar attack held in Dhaka
Police today arrested a union parishad chairman, a prime accused in connection with the October 30 attack on Hindu houses and temples in Brahmanbaria's Nasirnagar.
The arrestee, Haripur Union Parishad Chairman Dewan Atikur Rahman Akhi, was held from Bhatara in Dhaka around 1:30pm, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports quoting district Superintendent of Police Md Mizanur Rahman.
Akhi has been claimed to be the “mastermind” behind the attack.

On October 30, unruly zealots carried out a synchronised attack on the Hindus in the upazila, vandalising around 100 homes and at least five temples and looting valuables over a Facebook post.
The attackers also beat up over 100 people of the minority community.
