Khaleda to leave for Hajj tomorrow
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia tomorrow to perform Hajj there in response to the invitation by the Saudi king.
“She is expected to fly by a Saudi Arabian Airlines flight around 5:00pm,” Khaleda’s media wing staff Sayrul Kabir Khan told The Daily Star.
Khaleda, also a former prime minister, will be accompanied by her adviser Enamul Haque Chowdhury and personal secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.
BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman, who is now living in London for treatment, his wife Dr Zobaida Rahman and his late brother Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman may meet Khaleda Zia during the tour to Saudi Arabia, sources said.
Khaleda is expected to return home on September 22.
The BNP chairperson last visited Saudi Arabia in July, 2013 to perform Umrah.
