DU in QS World University rankings, in bottom 300
Only one university from Bangladesh, University of Dhaka, has made it to the latest QS World University Rankings.
Among the 936 universities ranked, DU made it among the bottom 300, according the ranking published today.
Among the 14 Indian universities that have made it to the list, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore ranks top being placed at 152nd position, followed by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) at 185th position. Five other IITs are placed between 200-400th positions in the rankings.
Six Pakistani universities have made it to the list. National University of Sciences And Technology (NUST), Islamabad has been placed between 501- 550 in the ranking. The other five universities from Pakistan are also placed among the bottom 300.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) tops the list for the fifth consecutive year, while University of Cambridge has dropped out of the top three for the first time in over a decade.
National University of Singapore (NUS) ranks top among the universities in Asia, placed 12th in the rankings, followed by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) in the 13th position.
Yokohama National University in Japan is the lowest ranked institution according to the rankings published.
