Derailment halts Dhaka-Mymensingh rail link
Train service on Dhaka-Mymensingh route remains suspended following a train derailment in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur this morning.
The engine of a Dhaka-bound commuter train from Mymensingh veered off the tracks when it was approaching towards Kawraid Rail Station, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting local railway officials.
Three trains – Agnibina, Balaka and Mohua – got stuck at different points of the route, Abdul Ahad Khan, officer-in-charge of Mymensingh Government Railway Police Station, told our district correspondent.
Two relief trains from Dhaka and Mymensingh will soon reach the scene to salvage the derailed engine.
