Death of buffalos caused by eating rotten grass of Sunamganj haor
The death of buffalos at Nandail Haor in Sunamganj was caused by eating rotten grass, Field Disease Investigation Laboratory of Sylhet said after conducting a test of the animals’ blood samples.
No radioactive element was found in the blood samples that were tested, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports quoting Md Gias Uddin, deputy director of Sylhet livestock department.
The buffalos, which like to wallow in muddy water, fell sick and died yesterday.

Earlier, blood samples of six dead buffalos were sent to the divisional livestock laboratory for testing to find out the cause behind the animals’ death.
On Monday, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission confirmed that the radiation levels in the water and the dead fish and ducks collected from the flashflood-hit haor region were within the permissible limits.
