Ctg cocaine haul: Team formed to quiz detainees
A 10-member team has been formed to interrogate the people detained for their alleged link with the cocaine consignment scam at Chittagong port.
Kusum Dewan, deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, will lead the joint interrogation team, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
Representatives of different police stations under the CMP have been made members of the team, which was formed Thursday night, Kushum Dewan told The Daily Star.
A total of four people -- Atiqur Rahman, Mostafa Kamal, AK Azad and Golam Mostafa Sohel -- have so far been detained in connection with the seizure of a barrel of cocaine in Chittagong.
The liquid cocaine arrived at Chittagong port on May 8 along with 106 more barrels of sunflower oil from Bolivia via Uruguay, police said.
According to the cargo manifest recorded at the National Board of Revenue (NBR), a Bolivian company -- Import Export Vaiven SRL -- shipped the consignment from Montevideo Port in Uruguay.
