CMCH canteen staff stabbed dead
A canteen staff of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) was allegedly stabbed to death by a former employee on the campus this morning.
Mohammed Farhad, 22, hailing from Moheskhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar, was working as an attendant in the canteen, our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting Sub-inspector Jahirul Islam, In-charge of CMCH police camp.
Masud, a former staff of the canteen, entered the canteen and stabbed Farhad twice in his chest and ran away around 6:00am, the police official said quoting eyewitnesses.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took critically injured Farhad to the hospital’s emergency department where he was declared dead by doctors, the SI said.
“There may be a previous feud over sharing money or other valuable as both used to work together in the canteen for fourth class employees of CMCH”, Jahirul alleged. “We are investigating the issue”, he added.
Masud is on the run, the police official added.
