A Chinese citizen has been murdered allegedly by his two employees at a warehouse in Jessore town.
The deceased, Cheng Hi Sheng, 42, had been residing in Bangladesh for the last two years on business purpose, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Ilias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Police Station.
Sheng, who ran a business of easy bike machinery in Jessore, was beaten to death at his warehouse in Uposhohor area around 11:30am yesterday, Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police of Jessore, told reporters.
Police arrested two his employees Nazmul Hassan and his nephew Moktadir Rahman Raju, who primarily confessed to killing Sheng for looting his money, the SP said.
Sheng was beaten to death by iron rods, the SP said adding that a large quantity of tissue papers were stuffed in his mouth during the murder.
After killing Sheng, Nazmul and Moktadir called his wife Temu Li En in Dhaka and informed her that the Chinese man went missing. En later contacted with the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
Informed by the embassy, police raided the warehouse around 9:30am today and recovered the body from a toilet.
Sheng, who was residing at a house on Jail Road, rented the godown in Uposhohor area seven months back, the SP said.
